A little bit about The Bully’s Dare…it’s based on some real life experiences.
I spent summers on a boat in Long Island. As a NYC kid, my family was lucky enough to escape to Long Island every summer. We’d live on a sailboat and take sailing trips along the coast.
The laundry room Kenzi and Donovan smoke in, the pool they swim in, and the restaurant with a view of the marina — all real places.
Hannsett Island is fictional, but it’s loosely based on Block Island, a place we’d visit regularly.
I have a lot of great memories of playing on the beach, spending hours in the small corner bookstore, and taking our annual family pictures in front of the local ice cream shop.
I fell in love with Block Island, and I hope you get to fall in love with Hannsett Island in the same way 🏝️
